Sports and Leisure Association for the Blind

The Sports and Leisure Association for the Blind (ASLPA) was created by a group of blind, visually impaired, and fully sighted sports enthusiasts to organise and promote sports and leisure activities especially designed and fully adapted for blind and visually impaired people.

Our first commitment is to develop downhill skiing, a sport in which ASLPA has acquired an incontestable and renowned experience. Our aim is to encourage as many adults with visual impairments as possible to practice this sport in a convivial, safe, and fully adapted environment. All our guides have received adapted training and are fully qualified to guide skiers ranging from beginners to experts.

Our winter outings are organised on Sundays, during entire weekends, and also during evenings. We ski in various Quebec resorts. We also take part in charitable promotional activities such as the 24 heures du Mont-Tremblant and Défi Mira.

Other activities are held during the spring, the summer, and the fall, such as tandem cycling, sailing, Sea-Doo, water-skiing, and hiking.

ASLPA is a non-profit organisation that does not receive government funding. This is why all our fundraising activities, such as our Dinner in the Dark, and our sponsors are so important.
